In using QuickTime to display digital video to the screen, there are certain constraints for playback based on the storage medium and the machine being used. At Digital Ecstasy we have optimized our movies for CD-ROM on a Macintosh LC as a minimum requirement. This means that the movie was compressed over and over to require no more than 90k/sec. of data be played back to the screen. This is a very low number to work with to make sure all machines are compatible. This is also the reason why you see occasional mosaic patterns appear in the videos. But we did this to ensure that playback would be as smooth as possible to the screen.
The majority of this film was recorded in a ΓÇ£slow motionΓÇ¥ effect by the producer of the movie, Andrew Blake. We just wanted to point out that it isnΓÇÖt QuickTime that is giving the slow motion, it is the original filming by the studio.
